More than 200 participants were invited, including relevant experts, professors, and enterprise representatives in the graphite industry, such as Cheng Huiming (Researcher of Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Ai Hongyu (Second-level Inspector of the Mining Rights Management Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources), Shi Yijun (Deputy Division Director of the Building Materials Division of the Raw Materials Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology), Wang Fangcheng (Member of the Standing Committee of the Guangming District Committee and Deputy District Mayor), and Kong Dongliang (Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BTR Group).
The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Wang Wenli, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Non-Metallic Minerals Industry Association. Secretary-General Wang Wenli pointed out that this conference aims to gather the strength of the government, research institutions, and enterprises, conduct discussions on topics such as resource development and technological innovation, eliminate irrational competition in the industry, reshape the market mechanism, stimulate innovation momentum, expand application fields, and promote the synergy of the entire graphite industrial chain and the upgrading of modern industry.
I. Leaders' Speeches
At the beginning of the conference, Pan Donghui (President of the China Non-Metallic Minerals Industry Association), Wang Fangcheng (Member of the Standing Committee of the Guangming District Committee and Deputy District Mayor), and Kong Dongliang (Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BTR Group) delivered speeches respectively. Ai Hongyu (Second-level Inspector of the Mining Rights Management Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources) and Shi Yijun (Deputy Division Director of the Building Materials Division of the Raw Materials Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) gave keynote speeches.
Pan Donghui, President of the China Non-Metallic Minerals Industry Association, stated in his speech that currently, the global graphite industry is in a stage of restructuring its industrial chain and supply chain, while China's graphite industry is undergoing a profound transformation. During this process, development faces numerous challenges as well as brand-new opportunities. As a core material in the fields of new energy and high-end manufacturing, the key to achieving high-quality development of graphite and its industry in the future lies in realizing breakthroughs in core technologies, promoting diversified market expansion, and practicing the concept of green and environmentally friendly development. These will also be the core tasks and development directions of the industry in the future.
Wang Fangcheng, Member of the Standing Committee of the Guangming District Committee and Deputy District Mayor, said that Guangming District is not only China's fourth comprehensive national science center but also an innovation-driven "city of science" gathering innovation resources. He warmly welcomed people from all walks of life to settle and develop in Guangming, and work together to become pioneers of innovation in Guangming Science City. Guangming District will do its utmost to provide the most favorable conditions for scientists and entrepreneurs to pursue their careers, making this land a new space for expanding undertakings, a new stage for investment and entrepreneurship, and a new field for reaping achievements.
Kong Dongliang, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of BTR Group, noted in his speech that for China's graphite industry to move from "leading in scale" to "leading in quality", the way to break the deadlock is to reshape the industry's competitiveness through innovation. In particular, it is necessary to firmly believe in the win-win cooperation of the industrial chain, promote the construction of a green graphite industrial chain, adhere to the global layout, and persist in driving technological innovation to seize the commanding heights of next-generation materials.
II. Release of the Initiative
At the opening ceremony, the China Non-Metallic Minerals Industry Association released the Initiative on Strengthening Industry Self-Discipline and Promoting the Healthy and Orderly Development of the Graphite Industry. It calls on the entire industry to respect market laws, standardize competitive behaviors, and jointly create a fair, orderly, and healthy industrial development environment, so as to promote the healthy and orderly development of the graphite industry and guide the industry into a new stage of high-quality development.
III. Conference Keynote Reports
The keynote reports on the morning of July 22 were presided over by Zhang Yang, Secretary-General of the Graphite and Graphite Materials Professional Committee of the China Non-Metallic Minerals Industry Association, focusing on topics such as the current status of the graphite industry and the development of downstream industries.
