As a key strategic material supporting high-end manufacturing sectors such as semiconductors and new energy, high-purity graphite is entering a critical window period for industrial upgrading. Reporters learned from the conference organizing committee that the 2026 National High-Purity Graphite Industry Chain Development Conference, themed "Efficient Utilization and High-End Breakthroughs", will be held at the Radisson Blu Hotel Zhengzhou TianDi in Henan Province from March 11 to 12, 2026. The event aims to address industrial bottlenecks and promote the independent controllability and high-quality development of the high-purity graphite industry chain.
Currently, China has become the world's largest producer and consumer of graphite. The market scale of high-purity graphite reached 25 billion yuan in 2025 and is expected to rise to 55 billion yuan by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of over 15%. While China has established significant advantages in natural graphite mining and large-scale artificial graphite production, the industry still faces "bottleneck" challenges in high-end products: the import dependence of semiconductor-grade ultra-high-purity graphite stands at 55%, the localization rate of isostatically pressed graphite is less than 40%, and there are common issues such as high energy consumption and heavy environmental pressure. Meanwhile, the explosive growth of downstream industries including new energy vehicles, semiconductors, and hydrogen energy continues to drive demand. In 2025, the global demand for graphite used in lithium-ion battery anode materials reached 500,000 tons, and the demand in the semiconductor sector grows at an annual rate of 15%, making industrial upgrading an urgent priority.
Focusing on key industry pain points and development hotspots, this conference will set 15 core topics and build a full-industry-chain technical exchange system. In terms of technological breakthroughs, it will focus on discussing the latest progress in chemical and high-temperature purification methods for ultra-high-purity graphite (≥99.999%), as well as the industrial application and cost control of new purification technologies such as microwave and plasma, responding to the industry's urgent needs for purity improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement. In the field of application innovation, the conference will conduct in-depth analysis on cutting-edge directions including the preparation of high-purity graphite components for semiconductors, innovation in lithium-ion battery anode materials, and the application of graphite materials in hydrogen energy storage and transportation. It will also pay attention to new material requirements from the nuclear industry and aerospace sector, as well as emerging application scenarios such as superconductivity and quantum computing. To meet green development goals, special topics on energy consumption control and waste resource recycling will be set up to help enterprises respond to the "dual carbon" strategy and international environmental requirements such as the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).
To promote in-depth integration of industry, academia, research, and application, the conference will feature diverse special activities. On-site procurement and matching meetings will focus on connecting full-chain needs such as investment and financing, achievement transformation, process solutions, equipment procurement, and talent cooperation, building a platform for precise collaboration. The concurrent exhibition will comprehensively showcase full-industry-chain products including high-purity graphite raw materials, products, processing equipment, and testing instruments, providing participants with an intuitive platform for technical and product exchanges. Previous similar industry conferences hosted by China Powder Network have attracted over 300 representatives from industry, academia, and research institutions, becoming an important platform for technical connection and industrial collaboration.
This conference is open to the entire industry chain, inviting enterprises engaged in natural graphite mining, artificial graphite production, and high-purity graphite product manufacturing; technical and procurement managers from application fields such as semiconductors, lithium batteries, and hydrogen energy; university research teams; and representatives from investment institutions. A tiered pricing system applies to conference fees: enterprise representatives who register before February 10, 2026, will only be charged 1,600 yuan per person, while university faculty and student representatives will be charged 1,200 yuan per person. The fee includes conference materials, conference services, and meals; accommodation can be arranged independently.
A relevant person in charge of the organizing committee stated that this conference will gather elite forces in the industry. Through multi-dimensional forms such as technical seminars, demand matching, and product exhibitions, it will accelerate the breakthrough of core technologies and industrial application of high-purity graphite, helping China's graphite industry transform from "scale advantage" to "high-end leadership" and move towards the high end of the global value chain.
